“Lets see”: Jurgen Klopp’s Prematch statement on Manchester United Clash

Ahead of the crunch clash of titans on Sunday 17th between Liverpool and Manchester United, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has spoken about his team’s readiness for the epic clash.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool is in a midst of a poor run of form having failed to win any of their last three matches. This is a slip to their usual astonishing standards that has seen them accumulate 96 and 99 points over the last two seasons.
Their poor run of form has allowed United to unseat them from the top of the Premier League table.
Following huge scrutiny after the 1-0 loss to Southampton at St. Mary’s, Klopp and his band of mentality warriors have had enough time to self-reflect.

Now, that seems to be exactly what happened as Klopp had admitted that his team would try to get back their rhythm via 11 vs 11 player training sessions. A Liverpool team with rhythm is still a world-beater.
That might have led Jurgen Klopp to make a strong prematch statement. He made a strong statement to Skysports ahead of the Liverpool-United showdown.

He said:

“We lost against Southampton a week or so ago, which was not what we wanted, but the next day we spoke and the boys had their say as well, all that kind of stuff,”

“We are now in a place where we want to be. We know what we have to do. We know what went wrong. We want to change.

“Now, we have to put in place on the pitch. That is the situation. I’m looking forward to this game, to be honest.

“I know Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer, the United manager] said that this is the best moment to play against Liverpool. Yeah? Let’s see.”

When asked whether there was a special motivation to play United this weekend considering they(United) were top of the league, he had this to say:

“Winning a football game, winning against United is enough in itself,” he added.”
“It is not necessary that there are special add-ons. We play at home against United and we want to win.”
“They are in the situation they are, they got the points, they deserved the points, we have got ours and the season still has a long way to go so it is not like we talk about if we win we go ahead of them.”
“Man City is one game behind and is very close as well so we don’t constantly think about other teams.”
“We just try to win our football games and for this, we have to perform at our highest level because United are good – they always were.”
