Speaker And Clerk Of Niger State Assembly Test Positive For Coronavirus

Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Abdullahi Bawa, and the clerk of the House, Abdullahi Kagara have gone into isolation after testing positive for Coronavirus.

This was revealed to Channels Television by the state’s Comminsooner of Information, Muhammed Idris, adding that the test results came in on Sunday December 20.

This is coming two weeks after the lawmaker representing Gurara Local Government and Chairperson of the House Committee on Gender Affairs, Binta Mamman tested positive for the virus.

The entire legislators and staff of the Assembly volunteer were tested for COVID-19 last week. While that of the Speaker and the Clerk came back positive, other results are still being awaited.
