The same group of hackers ‘Anonymous’ who tampered with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) website, has admitted that they were responsible for trying to hack the Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) internet platform.
They claimed their actions are in line with the ongoing#EndSARS protest and they have threatened to do more.
Although the EFCC has admitted to claim that there were attempts to hack their website, they however assured that the website was not hacked.
Wilson Uwujaren,EFCC Head of Media on Monday pointed out that the act was attempted during the weekend.
However the spokesman blamed this grievous act on “cybercriminals” for a near breach of its privacy.
Uwujaren said the attempts were successfully repelled and that the website “is up and running”.
